Pull Up bar grip

whats the best stuff to put round a pull up bar to stop getting calloses (sp?) and bunched up skin?
I got finger tape round my current one put it still causes the above. I was thinking tennis/badminton handle grip or summit?

i just kept putting more tap round until it stopped but a freind used a hockey stick grip, its pretty comfy.

Is hockey tape much thicker than strapell?

Do you chalk up to use it? I find it stops my hands slipping, which is what causes the bunching.

I just open-hand the bar, instead of gripping it with the thumb and fingers in a fist.

No slipping, no blisters and hopefully more climbing-specific.

Is that a stupid answer?? :oops:

Cork handle bar tape from the local bike shop will do the trick. Failling that Xpedia.co.uk, should cost about £6-7.
