Ankle schmankle
January 29, 2006, 10:02:32 pm
Whilst downclimbing a 4a today (I've not got up it, do I still get the tick?   ) I jumped off, and because my mat was elsewhere, landed on the ground. The landing wasn't bad, just tilted, and I bent my ankle back pretty bad. It hurts a bit walking on it, so I know it isn't broken, but is there anything I can do to stop it becoming a full-blown injury?

Strap an ice pack to it tightly for 15 mins with a stretchy crepe bandage. Remove. Allow to return to normal body temperature. Repeat. Keep do this as often as you can for 2 days. Rest it.

I woke up this morning unable to put any weight upon it. Bugger. I think I may have to see a doctor...

Maybe it is, but surely the punishment for that would more likely be a royal sandbagging? Nature moves in mysterious ways...
