well bearing in mind the 6mp SLRs are still currency and incredibly popular, you're unlikey to find anyone parting with one at a cheap price unless they for example owned a D70 and have just upgraded to a D200 and have enough disposable income to let one go for under the asking price. And even then you're not going to get much change out of £400-500 for a used D70, lens or not. You'd be better off getting a new D50, but then again you're gonna need ~£500 to burn once you've bought all the other shit you need like cards lens etc unless you happen to be travelling to the far east in the immediate future. If £500 is what you mean by a decent price then go for it, otherwise i suggest you wanna set your sights a bit more realistic. no-one aside from the sultan of dubai is going to have 6MP DSLRs knocking about the house that they want shut of.

also bear in mind really the only DSLRs over 6mp are the 350D or the pro models which cost £1-2000+, what youre asking is like wanting someone to sell you a 2003 bimmer for a monkey.

cheapest way to start is peobably a cheap olympus point and shoot digital or a 1970s used manual focus SLR.

Whilst we're on the scrounge, anyone wanna get rid of a decent motor for hardly any spons? I'm thinking 02/03 less than 60k mileage, TDi sumink...£500, oh go on then, maybe I'll stretch to £750 if its really nice.

I'd say just start off with a simple camera until you get very good. Many fine photos can be taken on bog standard cameras. I can't climb equilibrium, but i'm not going to invest in some new shoes because they wont make me climb it. I can't take good photos, but I'm not going to buy a flashy camera because i'll still take crap photos.

Jim, i'm sure some Denton local will take it off your hands for less...

i'm clearing out all my digital stuff actually. nikon d2h and d2x bodies, 12-24 lens, 17-55, 70-200 lens, 300 2.8, 10.5 fisheye, sb800.  i've decided to give up digital for film. all this technology makes my head hurt. you can take the lot off me in exchange for a kodak box brownie and a bag of pork scratchings...

i've given up money as well. all trouble. you'll have to barter. as you can see, i accept wheat and pork skin based snacks, but will also consider root vegetables and cigarette cards...

I have a feeling that particular torch is going to have to be prised from his cold dead hands.

p.s. Paul, we can talk about this tomorrow.

No, I'd be quite happy to get rid of the "forum abused idiot" torch...

your words.....

I recon calum would buy your entire stock in root vegtables.
I've got a load of cigarette token card type things from back in the smoking days in the 'Tin'. They make excellent roach

You would probably get a mint for them on ebay.

you're telling me you'd prefer a packet of walkers 4 cheese sensations over a spinnache, cucumber, brochali, carrot and onion smoothie how strange.

p.s.i'm sure andie will correctly spell the above if you need to write a list to order them from your local organic green grocer.

orange and carrot is ok, but multiple vegetable combinations are not really my cup of tea. and what is brochali? is it something my butcher might be able to get hold of?
