Minolta Dimage 5400 Scanner

I'm sure I can find a new owner for this puppy here - would rather flog it to you guys than the great unwashed on ebay.

It's a very impressive 35mm scanner, with 5400dpi resolution, Digital ICE, grain dissolve, etc, etc. Winner of various awards like scanner of the year (that must be a fun packed awards ceremony...) Comes with Firewire and USB leads, 2x film holders (1 for mounted slides, 1 for film), manual, and i think i have the original driver disc, but there is an updated version anyway which i'll burn too. There is a new version out, but there isn't a hugh amount of difference - think the new one has USB2 instead of Firewire, and a plastic box instead of this nice metal one.

Anyway, it cost over £500 and it's yours for £250 inc p&p.

It's a great scanner, but I hardly use it any more. Have a flatbed for MF which i use all the time, but that can't touch this for 35mm.

What flatbed are you using? Is it up to making display prints? Been looking at scanners for my growing 645 collection...

it's an epson 4870.  i don't use it for big prints really, although i'm sure it would be fine. i did once scan a velvia 6x9 at 3200 for the hell of it (thought that 4800 was a little excessive) and ended up with an enormous file with quite stunning detail. nice colours too.

i mainly use it for brochures and press stuff that don't justify £60 a pop drum scans, and for that it's perfect.
