Wow - i've seen that before but it still totally got me - amazing what the human eye can decide what to see or not see.

derren brown did something very similar to this on his live show i saw. At the very beginning he shows a film of 2 pairs of table tennis players on the same table, one pair dressed in white and one in back, each pair batting a ball back and forth. The view was from the side, so the balls paths were hard to distinguish. He asked the audience to see if they could count how many times the white teams ball crossed the net during a minute of play. A most people didn't get the number right, and almost all didn't spot when the pair of black players swapped with 2 guys dressed in gorilla suits. I'm happy to say I did spot it though - look at me.

it's a gorilla not a bird. i didn't see the bird. you must be good. i'm going to watch it again and try and spot the bird. whilst simultaneously counting the eggs in my basket, my chickens prior to hatching, the basketball passes and crowes.
