Not sure why that last clip has been posted. Three good reasons I can think of.

1 - Its a climbing video, but its been posted in the non-climbing videos thread

2 - There is no hint of quality about it whatsoever

3 - Its fucking horrible. Having dealt with at least 2 climbers who have had that injury in recent times, I can assure you that that break (tib and fib) is no laughing matter. Made me feel quite sick. No need, surely, even with the warning to post that. UKB is here to provide a place for boulderers to discuss their sport, not be put off it for life!

Sorry.  I deal with these too, and I can assure you it ain't meant to be funny.  But, it's not something you see that often on film and it very nicely demonstrates the principles of fracture mechanism and initial displacement.

I suppose it highlights the hugely over-looked fact that bouldering is the form of climbing where you are much more likely to hurt yourself. If you ever are unlucky enough to have an accident route climbing then its likely to be very serious or fatal. However, boulderers are constantly subjecting themselves to groundfalls - sometimes from quite high up. Horrific fractures such as on the video highlight the fact that you can do an awful lot of damage from not very high off the ground. You my not be risking your life, but serious breakages can and do regularly happen. Always be careful when you position your mats, and get a spotter or two. The poor guy in the video didn't have a spotter to guide him onto his mat and look what happened...
Helicopter has been responsible for more nasty accidents than most other problems anywhere - don't do it kids! Do something good instead (like Festin de pierre) for your 7a tick.
