Bouldering in Derbyshire
September 29, 2005, 11:56:36 am
A friend and I are planning to go to derbyshire to boulder for a weekend within the next few weeks. We are looking around the area of dovedale etc.

Does anybody know of any good places to go? We have a car so the area doesn't have to be exact...

On a related note, does anybody know if it is possible to hire a bouldering mat from any of the local shops? We've been climbing/bouldering for about 4 months now, pretty regularly, but this is our first foray into the outdoors...

Thanks for any advice

Gordon

would have thought there was sod all bouldering in dovedale. Nearest place would probably be the roaches.

Roaches area and Churnet are the nearest, but they aren't that near.
Without a pad the best bet would be to turn up somewhere popular with flat landings like Burbage South boulders, do some without and politely ask to join in with padded up parties on others.
