campus boards

does anyone know if you can buy a whole campus board? like the old s7 ones? i have to move south for a few weeks and don't want to loose strength. I'm too lazy to just buy some rungs etc; is a frame dificult to build? how would one mount it?

Axel what is this? "I have to move south for a bit"? "If I'm away from a campus board for a week I won't be able to nearly do a problem at the Tor"?
You can buy rungs - then use science to attach the bulkhead to a wall. I have some Metolius rungs I won back int' day. You can have em for £200...

word cowgirl, i'll be living at my mum's whilst i do a cardiology placement, was gonna buy a fingerboard but assume that a campus board would be better... (and you can revise in between sets on a cmpus board, and there is no where within an hours drive of bedford to climb... boo hoo hoo.)
gollum how much did your beast cost?

Hmm. I've tried this, and it doesn't really work. You can just about follow an episode of the Simpsons in between sets on a campus board, however.

Al charged me £100 all in, building with 2inch box steel frame and 30 inch across ply board plus 9 three quarter inch holds and nine half inch. Set up at 8 inch spaces alternating, ie four inch apart. The board is t nutted all the way across with 8mm nuts to reduce amount of board cut out. Angled at 12 or 15 degrees, can't remember exactly and finished in a lovely lilac.Designed to sit on side of house and come down in winter. Think that all makes it pretty good value and is a damned sight better built than the S7 board was. Not sure what Al would charge to build another, as he did use a lot of scrap materials, he built it as a favour and was a bit of a design project.

I'd get in touch and ask him.

She's going to be chuffed to bits when you start putting bolts in the Laura Ashley wall paper in the spare room and then stick a campus board up...

hatfield wall is not too far from bedford,(although i'm fed up with it) plus the locals there have the odd home board between them. maybe you could get to amersham in less than an hour?

re how far apart - 22cm.

re lilac - gollum you homo! I never would have thought it!

re al manson - he is the main man. He also made a climbing wall for a conservative party politician (although you dont have to be an MP to get him to work for you - Gollum puts out fires for instance), and built the Leeds wall.

Dobbin the colour is cool and adds to the feel, can chill and pull like a bastard at the same time. It also helps not piss the neighbours off so much and hey I'm just in touch with my feminine side.

Hope you doin okay, might be down in Peak with Swanny at weekend.
