Thought I'd better crib this from cocktalk:

Quote
The next bouldering competition is coming up this friday (21st March) so this week is your last chance to complete your favourite / most challenging routes.

The competition will be held from 1pm onwards on Friday with 20 routes to complete. The cost is £4.

The bouldering wall will be shut from 3pm Thursday 20th March in order for the holds to be changed.

I gather it starts from 1300 onwards and you have 2 hours to compete, untill 2200, maybe scouse could clarify....

Cool! I might enter after work!

I'm not having a day off tomorrow though, but who cares - its only a fun comp, I will have been four days on, so expect a really inspired performance!

Anyone else up for action?

Not that anyone out there cares (sniff) but the comp is open to the public, costs £4 and you can enter any time you want up till 8pm. The nice lady on the phone then went on to say that she thought it would take two hours to complete and there are three problems to do!

Must be damn long problems!

Yeah I did, I thought it was quite cool, a good wall, good interesting problems and nice to see a few faces. I was pipped by Ed robinson and came away with second. I got 184, he got 187 the toad!

Don't worry if you didn't do to well, they're only a bit of fun after all!

Is your strong Ed the same one that works at the Edge?  Usually to be found doing pull-ups on ice-axes?

I'm afraid that everyone has to endure the misery and self-loathing of being a newbie. If you post more than 30 posts then you become a regular....

Make the most of being a "newbie", its when you get "sad fuck with no life" and "menacing presence" you wanna worry.

Nope! Strong Ed to whom I refer is none other than the scientist with the mostest - Ed Robinson, strong fcuker and all round nice guy. He works for the Health and Safety labs in Sheffers. If you speak to him he will tell you he is an important science type, but I have  it on good authority that he is the office tea boy. Still, he's just a dirty lurker, so perhaps this will give him the impetus to register??? Ed?

Re being a newbie - you need to be more of a gobshite for it to change i'm afraid. Don't worry though, it gets worse as you go on, I mean, you'll eventually be refered to as 'sad fuck with no life' cheers.
