Med Bouldering
March 12, 2003, 08:02:55 pm
I'm still trying to sort out my summer bouldering trip.  I'm thinking somewhere nice and sunny like an island in the Med, but I don't know the first thing about bouldering in those parts.

Anyone know of any good places and where I can get info about them?

Cheers :D

(P.S. I measured my own body fat composition today at uni and it was so low (below 5%) the machine wouldn't even work, now thats dedication!)

Isn't summer bouldering in the med just going to be absolutely roasting hot? I;d be more tempted to go somewhere high up in the alps.

It'll be too hot for hard bouldering, but it'll be nice - see these links for Sardinia:

sardiniaclimb.com (general climbing info)
sardiniablock.it (bouldering areas with topos, etc)

Isn't < 5% bodyfat dangerously low?

If it is I feel incredibly well for it, my lecturer was surprised but didn't seem to think it was anything to worry about, but then again we don't get on too well :?

Got any info on alps bouldering?  What other locations would have good conditions to get some hard stuff done?  It's a difficult choice, coming back with a good tan, or having done some hard stuff. :D

The photo gallery on webclimbing.com has loads of pics of fine looking boulders in Portugal so that could be an interesting venue....

Other than that there's Cresciano, Magic Wood, Ailfroide, etc
