http://www.cragx.co.uk/webcam/images.php

Not the greatest web-cam but might be of use to people thinking of traveling in from Sheffield etc.

Got a 404 on that URL

It wont insert as a link for some reason, redirects to cragx!

Obviously slightly the wrong thread, but I figure any lime obsessives will see this - anyone know what stoney's like, particularly if the undercuts at the back of tom's are soaked?

I'd have thought you could be in luck! that is if you can get up there without crampons... be careful!

Minus 10 was back in business today after a drenching the other week. Undercuts at back of tom's roof still wet. Peeps on the sport at stoney too. Nobody been to rubicon recently?

Mostly dry on kudos, bit damp at the back of some stuff. Salar dry, sissy dry, hfc dry. Warm up area soaked under foot.

Now, how do you all clip bolt 2 on salar? extend it with a sling and clip before the moves left to the pockets? Dubious preclipping? Man the f**k up?

Pre clip is the way! The downclimb would only be about French 6c. I would however salute the superior ethics of anyone making the clip on lead

Answer C. Man the F**K up!

If you're pre-clipping the 2nd you don't even make a single clip apart from the top

(I've always said it would be better with a tonne of earth piled below it to make it into a boulder problem)

I did as per ted. Climbed up, clipped both, climbed back down again. THen climbed from bottom to top without stopping.

Who cares to be honest? its a sport route

Climbing up, clipping and then reversing is VERY different to pre-clipping.

Might as well just clip that dogging bolt as well, eh dobb?   ;)

I went last wednesday - it was amazing! there was wetness on that which you have in mind, but the upper moves would be ok. We need to take cleaning kit - a scrubbing brush perhaps. I'm hoping Beluga is dry too....

Had an awesome lamp session on Kudos last night.
Kudos area bone dry. Warm-up/3 traverse area were dry.

Caviar area looked piss wet.
The ground was none to dry either.
Flooded under Caviar, very muddy everywhere else.

Not much to add; on saturday people arrived at the tor from Rubicon, their main complaint being it was way too hot! (Did you go to caley yesterday? it was busy).

Yeah it was rammed, made some good progress on New Jerusalem, get that next visit, I'll probably go and flail around uselessly at the Tor for a few hours then..

Dry and getting drier last night. Sun now off the wall as late as 1645 (ish). Chuffing boiling before.
