bouldering is kewl?

Apparently bouldering is "tribal", "non-conventional freedom of movement"
etc. this according to a glossy mini-brouchure that came with the weekend supplement of the Irish Times (the paper of record you know...), do TNF not know that there are about a dozen boulders in Ireland?

Is bouldering the next 'kewl' thing? Do the G+T drinking GQ reading ad execs think they have found the next nu eXtrem sport?

More to the point, the film is quite well professionally done.

Also there is that Abachrome (sp??) video of Sharma that AL (a prospective A+F model no doubt) pointed out on RT http://www.abercrombie.com/aftv/html/pastshows1.html (I like the bit where they frolic in the waterfall - I would like to see them try that under the waterfall in Glendo and not die)

</rant>

Remember folks cool is you are not what you do...

Bouldering is definitely "kewl" - I was emailed by a researcher for Woman's mag "Shape" the other day asking how many people boulder in the uk, so they must be doing a thang on it.

Great, we need more people bouldering, especially in the Peak.

Just say something outrageous like "well, 100,000 people climb, so, lets say 90% of climbers under 40 have at one point bouldered, so that makes... about... 84,128. Now, 73.9% have bouldered in the Peak at some stage. So thats 62,381."

that should satiate her

How the hell is bouldering Tribal? Weird.

And WFT is "non-conventional freedom of movement" ? As opposed to what, "conventional freedom of movement"....which is what, exactly? Is dancing, conventional freedom of movement?

I've been skating for 15 years, climbing for 9. I have never been cool.

The two help each other out. Frontside airs and Golden Days are exactly the same thing, just different shoes.

Anyone wants to pick a fight, I'll kick your arse.
