Yet more Peak news!
January 06, 2005, 06:01:04 pm
Word just in Iain 'youngster' Farrar has completed his long standing project on the Turd Burglar block at Froggat. This amazing looking highball climbs steep curving and very sloping right arete of the block on it's left hand side. As featured on a brief clip of Iain on it on the start of Consumed. Done today with four pads and one spotter. Crabstick the pimp turned up just in time to catch the FA on film. Definately on the scary side of highballing, the landing is similarly bad if not worse than the landing on Pat's new line. Fortunately the finishing jug of Jetpack provides a suitably flat (but very small) perch for a spotter to stand on and hopefully push you onto mats should you blow the crux upper section. 7c+ has been mentioned gradewise but I think he's still mulling it over.  Word is he's calling it.....

.....My Orange.

Jack fruit:

Saw ones like this and bigger in a posh London food store, selling for about £30. THAT is the sort of fruit cofe needs to pull out of the bag =).

P.S. Dense, yes.

The new line follows the arete rising to my left on this pic:

And rocks over the top somewhere up near the clump of heather.

The Pimp seems to be fast amassing some kwality footage. Is he gonna edit it up or what???

Oh and its clear from that photo that those branches are in no way big enough to assist an ascent. I hereby restake my claim and name it "get yer own oranges McShane"

The Pimp is currently putting a taster thing together to put on UKB and is in the early stages of a proper thing.

Saw the video t'other day. Looks amaaazing (as dense might say). Spoke to Iain and he says the problem is actually pretty safe as long as you've got a well trained spotter who can push you on if you start struggling or thrust you pad-wise if you fall (the fall from the upper moves has been tested).
