[Control freak]

Ok, its like this. In three weeks Im off on a world tour prior to taking up new residence in Oz (it'll be hard I know). The bulk of the time will probably be spent in india and east asia, namely Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Sumatra. Has anyone got any knowledge on venues or sites with information on these countries?

I'd avoid Thailand, Sumatra and East India for the time being. Not exactly a 'holiday' destination.

All these places are  fine for holdidays as long as you stay away from the affected areas ie the indian Ocean coastal regions. In fact the  Thai  touism minister was on sky news urging people to continue to visit Thailand. The last thing these places need is for tourists to abandon them when they are bringing in valuable western currency
