Ditto, looks like their diagonal counter-rabbit has become crosswise.

Yep, that's the problem. I uploaded a new version, then got this strange exception:
Code: [Select]
java.lang.ClassFormatError: com/yorkshiregrit/DatabaseItemNormal (Illegal constant pool type) when I tested it.  Since then I haven't been able to restart tomcat, and my helpful webhosting company haven't replied to my requests for help.  Great.

Nightmare - not seen that error before and not a lot on google about it.

Do you have root access to your server? If so, you could go to the Tomcat directory and delete all the "work" directories, then try running the stop and start .sh scripts. I find sometimes that when the restart won't work, stopping and starting does.

Sadly I don't have root access, so I'm reliant on the hosting company.  I've changed the code to catch all exceptions, so hopefully that'll stop it crashing once it's restarted, although it won't fix the problem.

It's working now.

Hope you like the new look.

I'll be adding a couple of Brimham video clips later tonight.

I think YG looks great - nice clean design, v. easy to use, etc....I think I preferred the text-only banners rather than the new ones but hey, what the hell do I know?

Tomcat is an open-source servlet container. It runs java servlets and .jsp (java server pages, which are just compiled to servlets anyway) so all the non html stuff on here (and yorkshiregrit.com) is done through it....well apart from the .php stuff like this board.

It's home page is http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/

<sigh> I'm such a ....

yorkshiregrit is down again - the server was hacked at 11 pm last night apparently.  The hosting company is keeping me up to date with developments by e-mail, which is thoughtful of them except that my e-mail is down cos the server has been hacked (see above)... twats.

Bad news Jon..... presume it wasn't an attack aimed at your site but at the server as a whole - could be some evil Lancs hackers or something
