Eastern Europe

Right, am planning a trip to Eastern Europe this summer for a couple of months.

I will be sampling the delights of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Greece.

Does anyone know if there is any decent bouldering (well, any bouldering)to be had there?

cheers

There's an area in northern Greece which looks quite nice:

Although the site doesn't show much, I'm sure there's got to be a lot more than that - drop 'em an email perhaps - many Greeks speak good English.

I lugged a mat out to the Peloponese last year but didn't really find anything to boulder on, though I suspect you would do if you were being a bit more dedicated than I was.

Hungary: see http://ludens.elte.hu/climb/climb.html - it hints at many boulders around Budapest

There is definitely bouldering in the Czech republic, close to the German border, but can't remember the name of the area, and I'd be surprised if there's not lots in Slovakia too.

Hmmm..... I was a bit hasty there - most of those problems are Romanian dudes climbing in the USA, but there's some other info on areas and stuff there and it's in English too.....check the links page too....
