Doing backups / compressing mp3
November 23, 2004, 10:03:46 am
Some more dumbass computer questions cos I can't think straight until i get some ideas....

Does anyone have a recommended backing up regimen? I want to start backing u[p all my mp3s to DVD, but I reckon it'd be a pain to do a full backup every time- is there an easy way of only backing up new stuff since last backup?

Also, is it OK to compress mp3 any more using winzip / rar or similar?

What does people use to do a proper backup of their computer in case the whole thing goes tits up?  :?:

Have a look through here - quite a few options!

I don't think that zipping mp3s will have much effect on their size.

Norton Ghost/Acronis TrueImage for system backups

I don't really backup but I usually have 2 hard drives in my computer. The first has Windows on and other apps that I'd have to install if the system crashed. The second has all the data I don't what to loose such as all my media files and documents. After the last crash I have created a Norton image of my C: drive which I'm hoping will speed things up next time I have to reinstall.
