I was gonna drive to mam tor saturday for sunrise but didn't fancy the wind. it was bad enough at higgar. i had frost forming on the tripod.

Aye was bloody freezing, we got out the car just after 07:00 stood at the very top for a bit then dropped down a bit to try and get out of the wind (didn't help much we thought, until returning to the top and getting the full on ice-blast).  Another guy up there snapping pics said his car thermometer was -5 when he got out, the wind must have been 20-30mph I guess so at the conservative end that makes it ~ -13.

I'm wondering why so many people are stood literally a mile or so away, and behind buildings!    Its like trying to see the main Pyramid Stage from the Stone Circles at Glastonbury (i.e. you won't, not only is it too far, but the stage is facing the wrong way to be viewed from the Stone Circles!)
