New problem at burbage north
March 29, 2022, 09:47:43 am
Potential new line at burbage North 6b/+ maybe?

About 20 meters right of solitude is a holly tree growing by the side of a small square block.

Would be keen to know if anyone has done this before as could be a potential FA

Bit new here so not sure if I’ve posted this in the right place.

Anyone know if this already exists? Currently thinking of grades around 6a+\b

Looks nice a nice chill time.

If it hasn't been done I'd be surprised, but I've been very wrong before.

Looks like it climbs fairly well and isn't eliminate.
Nice work :)

Ahhh nice one, I’ve added to UKC already so I’ll amend the details! Gutted it hadn’t already been added, I cleaned it quite a lot yesterday so was convinced it must be new, never mind eh!

Worth messaging Rach about anything in Burbage as she’s done tons of new stuff over the last few years..

Just realised who it is! I actually messaged her a while back about the stuff at burbage east she’s done but didn’t get a reply. Thanks for sharing though, I’ve removed my name from the UKC page but can’t change the name of the climb I added. I’ll send a message over to the moderator at some point today to get it corrected.

Cleaned a couple more down this morning.

This one is on the verge of the woods before voyager. Sit start with a RH flake on an overhanging wall with LH pinch on the arête.

Pretty cool moves maybe 6a\+

Will post the others once finished cleaning and sent.

I did Holly Tree Arete on Friday. Nice little problem, grade felt about right, bit reachy but good moves in a nice spot. Nasty on the skin but aren't they all eh?

More pottering and cleaning today. Added a line to UKC direct up the slab of the large block below Monochrome.

The left side of the slab between arête and crack is on UKC at f2? This line seemed more obvious as direct up the middle. Really good smearing and decent holds in the crack.

Another one cleaned down and good to go. On the duo bulge boulder, mantel the overhanging shelf with a low start from some nasty crimps.

Has been done before a long time ago but after cleaning down figured it was worth logging and grading. Good for when in the area as just below boyager etc.

Gave it 6b+ called it “mantle health awareness”

Repeated today and 6B+ seemed appropriate maybe even a little stiff. Cool problem though well done.
