Rather sadly, Rich Waterton has reported the recent chipping of his above route from 2013 on the NY Moors. Here is the UKC report from when he first did it:

Rich has taken some shocking pics on his FB page, check it out if you want to see the extent of the damage. It seems like this was a blatant act by somebody intent on brining the rock down to their level.

So difficult to understand why anyone would do this. You have to really go and search out that route. It's in a quarry with not much else. And who is going to take the time to ab an E8 simply to chip it? Especially one of Rich's routes, when he's about as under the radar and chilled as you can get and I can't imagine he's annoyed anyone! Fingers crossed a semi decent repair job can be achieved.
