I find if I engage too hard on a straight arm it's tweaky. Safest (or at least, what seems least likely to cause me pain) position for me is slightly bent arms.

S: 100 press-ups. Front lever holds. Managed my best one yet, c.1.5seconds with a dip in my body. Pulling outwards helps to engage scapula
