Foundry's 25th Birthday next Monday 5th December.

Paul Reeve will personally buy pizzas for the 10 oldest Foundry Members who are on UKB. Say on this thread if you're going and I'll send Paul the list. If there are more than 10 in contention he can check. Warning pizza may contain high carbs.

For everyone else:

•   There is free climbing all day Monday 10am to 10pm
•   Free Climbing Comp Monday night from 5pm. 30 problems approx 20-25 around level 2 grade
.       Prizes from Beta,  5.10, Moon & Clinic Physio Sheffield.
•   DJ Big Bob Hickish. UV Lights, Old skool smoke and laser if it all works.
•   The pizza wagon will be available for any lucky enough to be young enough not get a free one

Me and Ella are going.
I presume you mean old as in past it rather than old as in longest running member? My fingers feel old and creeky if that helps

  • Don't die with your music still inside you ;)
Can I come too please? 48 too (24.01.68). I doubt our respective youth will cut it fatdoc. The class of '86 was a big one. Maybe we'll be in for a shout for a slice of garlic bread.

Anyway, you should be on a diet, so I'll have yours.

Slightly OT, I did a few problems with Rich Heap a few years ago; Stanage, Cowper Stone area, including sit start to Medicine Ball - Medicine Blob (a.k.a. fatdoc) V5  :tease: Was going to PM you. Not written up; don't know if it's done b4. Thump me on Monday.

How old is the oldest regular here?

Happy birthday to The Foundary btw...we could barely wait for it to open... such a step change in wall quality and so much fun.

I'm (just) old enough to remember when you needed to bring your own quickdraws if you wanted to lead, but I suspect my chances of free pizza are zero...

I'm a mere youth in comparison to some on here by the sound of it, I still recall going there not long after it opened before they had any flooring down (it was that red/brown mush you find in buildings of a certain age), the roof leaked and there was no heating. Still made the trip down from Bradford at the time as it was as good as it got then, either that or the Guiseley wall or Richard Dunn's. I preferred it too with the "open air" cafe at the top of the wave so you could have a chat to the fellow diners on topping out.

Oh, and I think my original membership number was 707...

Doesn't Paul mean: longest member or lowest membership number as in fatdocs response....?

I can't make it and I'm not old but i did join on day three or four, membership number 289.

I think he meant lowest membership number so quoting that would be useful. Mine is 53481 but I don't want pizza

Wow you've quoted yet deleted my comment.

Slip of the power user or some of them Fiend shenanigans?

For this reason, at work I have a punter login that I use most of the time...

I've just dug on my card I suspect 4774 doesn't even come close, but it expired  in 1998 so does that mean I'm not longer a member ?

Well that's easy as (allegedly) staff just delete low and memorable numbers for their own use...

I haven't noticed that whilst I've been there. Staff don't even really need membership numbers - Neil wasn't even a registered member until a week ago!

I'm not sure if I'll be there yet -depends on if I need to be in Filey for the day.
If I can I will though -  I might even eat pizza
