Photo on facebook or his blog is worth checking out

Tom Randall commented on Facebook: "Amazing effort from Franco Cookson. One of the best lines I've tried and some very beefy climbing on it.... I spent a few sessions on it and was absolutely sure of it being around E9 7a or you could bracket it in that "highball but really don't fall off at the top!" category. If I'd done this, I would rank it in the top 5 things I'd have ever done on grit/sandstone."

Pasty white torso and black ronhills against black rock? He needs a show some consideration for the poor photographer and wear a fucking decent outfit.

It'd be a start. Ideally those ones you could get with the flouro yellow flash.

It's bloody amazing climbing on this and is really quite high - uncompromising in its sustained nature as well. No massive holds or rests other then the first couple of moves.

If anyone has done Requiem for a Dream, then I think this is better.

I've still got some of those. Must be at least 24 years old. Went running in them last night over Houndkirk. I suspect I looked amazing

Spotted these on ebay yesterday: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Troll-Multicoloured-Climbing-Trousers-/222079025237

Too much?

Great effort by Franco. There are a number of really good problems at Stoupe, good crag.

Looks a lovely setting! It's like a seaside version of the Ilkley Calf.

It looks pretty unrelenting too. Something that high should only get a boulder grade if the top half is vdiff.

Unless it's in the Buttermilks.

 :great:
Great job.
I abseiled  down this v briefly years back. Pretty disposable holds I remember though I think I was looking at the line just left.

I must get to the Moors at some point.

Looks like a good line, just a shame that the opportunity was missed to call it The South-West Face of Barry

I'm slightly surprised it's not called 'Now do you fucking believe me Farnell'

Looks amazing but who proposed font 8A? Says on UKC he didn't grade it? 🤔

Battling with a technical knee on the first ascent of a monster of a highball at Stoupe Brow (Apparently font 8a?/hard E9 7a? - no idea on that one from me).

Wasn't the grade proposed by Tom Randall?

I'd have suggested E9 7a. It's way harder and just as dangerous as most Peak E9s.
