Eskdale Bangers...
March 02, 2016, 09:07:29 pm
After a 2 month long slow burning campaign, I have managed to persuade MrsTT that a short break in Easter would be best spent staying around Eskdale... We're only there for a couple of days, but any recommendations for areas/problems? Up to 7B...
Cheers, TT

I'd second Strong Arete and add Rob's Wall (stand up) 7A+, both at Fisherground, a gorgeous spot. If you're feeling psyched, head up to the teardrop Boulder in Mitredale (15-20 min walk in) to get on the awesome Diamond Reign 7B (sds 7B+, even better). One of the best 7Bs in the Lakes, I'd recommend 2 pads if you're unspotted. Bring lots of skin!

Quick follow up to this - I have room in the car for one large thick pad (snap wrap) or two thinner pads.... Which would be more of use? (Probably an impossible Q to answer! Sorry!)

I'd probably take the two thinner pads as the landings tend to be good/grassy. Also walk above the robs wall strong arete area but shortly after head right downhill towards the woodland by the side of the railway (laal ratty) situated below an old quarry and there is a small collection of good quality low mid grade warm up problems on great rock worth finding, think they are described on lakesbloc.
