Falling Down has the music albums/singles wrapped up, but for other stuff...

Top 3 films
Top 3 series
Top 3 books
Top 3 live performances
Top 3 art galleries

ETfuckingC.

Kicking off....

Top 3 banging hardcore/gabber sets (at clubs):
The Outside Agency @ Twisted's Darkside - intense crossbreed gabber mayhem!
SRB @ Twisted's Darkside - banging speedcore mayhem!
Dr Peacock @ Twisted's Darkside - bouncy frenchcore mayhem!

Top 3 toy soldiers painted:
Epic Ork Gargant - super classic old skool model, very satisfying to do.
Eldar Warlock - nice to work to an artwork brief, pleased with this.
Skaven - in honour of Vermintide, nice and fun to paint.

Top 3 weights lifted:
160kg deadlift (w/straps) in January
100kg squats fairly regularly
80kg bench get hench in December

Top 3 sci-fi etc book trilogies:
Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer - surreal and spooky.
Imperial Radch Trilogy by Ann Leckie - fresh fun space opera.
The Explorer / The Echo by James Smythe - a promised quadrilogy but with only two books released, I'm averaging that as a trilogy. Deep, dark, disorientating.

Top 3 computer games:
XCom Enemy Within - dunno if it was released this year but I played it this year and it is bloody fantastic.
SOMA - well gripping story-driven sci-fi survival horror, very vibey and intriguing.
Vermintide - hard as nails, steep learning curve, but proper Warhammer coop action - "Hit 'em in the donglers"!

BONUSES:

Top 1 political stories that were actually remotely interesting:
This is all so undignified, says dead pig oral sex guy - making politics entertaining and giving Cameron some credibility.

Top 1 film:
The Martian - great fun, smart sci-fi for everyone, did the book justice.

Top 1 acceleration in new Audi:
Leaving Bus Stop Quarry parking after another good day in Australia with Smelly Fox, got the conditions and curves perfectly.

Top 1 post-curry mega-shit:
The morning after a fine meal in The Spicy Vujon in Bangor, with an onion starter, pickley main course, and garlic rice. Took 3 flushes and stank out a 4 bedroom house for half an hour.

Whenever I see Fiend's hobbies outside of climbing, and his taste in music, I always ponder whether he might be on some police watch list.

"He were a quiet sort o' lad. Kept hi'sen to hi'sen mostly. We never thought he'd do something like this"

Put down the gabber!

Mawloc

Hive Tyrant

one on the left

Wraithknight

Top 2 films
Star Wars - Force awakens
Hunger games - mocking jay pt2

Top 3 games
Blood rage (board game)
Zombiecide (board game)
Fallout 4

Live performances
Cancer bats - The parish huddersfield
Brutal hardcore/stoner rock in my local pub. heavy heavy times.

Bronx - slam dunk fest
Again hardcore punk at its finest. The sound was aweful as it usually is at leeds met but the crowd interaction and set were perfect. Always fun when the lead singer is in the pit while still singing.

Anti Flag - Corp
Good fun punk gig. I was on a self enforced pit ban until this band put down an awesome set. My legs took over and I was in the middle of ti before a new what was happening.
Half full corp with the drum kit in the crowd for the last two songs with the vocalist on top of the drum kit.

Honerable mentions.
Cancerbats, alexisonfire, while she sleeps, marmozets, Bring me the horizon, bronx, babymetal, mariachi el bronx at leeds. While she sleeps, finch, gallows at slamdunk (can't remember that much, far too much rum). plus loads more been a very good year for gigs.
Metallica was shit!

Top 3 Books
Arena Mode - Blake northcote
King of thorns - mark lawrence
Emperor of thorns - Mark lawrence

they were so shit it was good.  :punk:
Leeds fest.

It was the ultimate cheese fest mixed with a bit of the disturbing Japanese lolicon obsession. My mate found it unbarable and descibed it as pandering to pedophiles.
The riffs were big and heavy. The voice over and videos were pure cheese but I enjoyed it all the same.

They announced a wembley arena gig at the end of their leeds fest set which I thought was a bit too ambitious. They have seats still available. standing is sold out. I would not travel to london to watch them.
