Something near Otley(ish) tomorrow
September 26, 2015, 05:49:28 pm
Anyone going bouldering tomorrow?

We're heading down towards Elland Road tonight to watch the rugby at 14:30 tomorrow, but my girlfriend has found she has lot of homework to do so I've got tomorrow morning free.

Where's best to go for a some solo circuits, I have a mat but no guide or anything.

I've heard rumours of something called "the calling of the gritstone". Conditions-wise, would it be stupid to go to Caley or Almscliff?

What's the "dangerous" parking at Almscliff?

The cliff will be a delight but busy busy busy.
Caley roadside is dry today but I heard others there saying the crag is wet.

If you've no mat I'm pretty sure you could rack up there and use others...

Parking dangerous? Non.

 :sorry: to hear.

Hope it's not bad and heals quick.

Thanks! Bit of a scrabble on the slopers but good to put it to bed  :)

The rock was surprisingly grippy at Caley today, and the main crag was actually in pretty good nick, but the ferns are still shoulder high and it did feel slightly muggy at times.

Unless you have a penchant for the jungle experience, or there's something specific you would like to get on at Caley, I think Almscliff will be a better choice for a nice day out. Almscliff is always in condition.

Hope your finger heals quickly Andy :)

Do bear in mind that these comments will be coloured by Nathaniel's all-consuming fear of bracken.
