I'd like to be able to listen to music / podcasts etc. through my car stereo and despite the person who spec'd my car going nuts on extras, there's no Aux in.

Having looked into it, you can easily hook it up to the wiring loom on the factory fitted satnav unit, but as that's one of the few things that works (not quite but I'm not touching it  ) I'm leaving well alone. Besides, I'll be changing car shortly I'd imagine.

I've got a really old FM transmitter and it's terrible. Are the newer ones better / worth looking into? TomTom recommended the Belkin (I'm guessing TuneCast) but they're quite a few FAs!

I've got a cheapish one you can have for nowt. The Belkin/ iTrip ones should be a bit better but I never been that impressed, even when they work well you end up pissing around retuning due to interference after driving a few miles. I paid some guy off an Audi forum a ton to wire an aux in; money well spent.

Like I said the aux in is relatively easy but I'm reluctant to reremove a working nav unit just before a big trip and I've got no intentions to keep the car long enough to plough more money into it.
