I have 5 days for a trip end of September, ideally for a bit of road biking, somewhere cheap or cheapish, preferably able to hire decent bikes there, warm and sunny. Willing to hire car / rent apartment if that's the easiest option.

Any suggestions?

I've been considering Mallorca, Murcia, Andalusia... ?

Mallorca is supposed to be brilliant. And you can hire decent bikes there as well.

The road biking in Mallorca really is great and its very easy to hire high quality road bikes.  Will still be pretty warm late September I guess but should be good cycling weather.  I had a family holiday late august (mixed withsome riding for me)  and with an early start conditions were fine.

Hi Toby,

I used Pro Cycle Hire in Puerto Pollensa this year and Tramuntana Tours in Puerto Soler last year.  No problems with either, good well maintained bikes and well organised.  Both good locations for cycling from though Soller does mean every direction involves a climb.

Can't really help on accommodation front, I was renting fairly expensive large apartments with pool etc, probably not what you're looking for.  A quick Google should find loads of options for apartments, cycle friendly hotels and bike hire.
