... they are better live than on cd!

???  Thought that was a general prerequisite for any live act.

You obviously haven't seen Queens of the stoneage live. Oh.dear.god.no. Could they have been any more boring? I say no. However, I am quite partial to some of their recorded stuff.

Stubbs.  What's the Waits LP from not so long back that contains the song whose lyric goes something like:  What's he doing in there?  What's he building in there? (etc..) to some kind of dissonant industrial fuzz in the background?  Think I need this LP.
The interestingly named Mule Variations
http://www.amazon.com/Mule-Variations-Tom-Waits/dp/B00000IGGA

I remember hearing this for the first time on a dark night in a packed minibus on the way back to Norwich. Funny how songs attach themselves to moments.
But yes, it's great. Might have to seek it out myself.

You mean you willingly returned to Norwich?  Most bizarre...

To be fair, he didn't actually say that he willlingly returned.  Maybe r-man meant to say...  "I remember hearing this for the first time at gun-point on a dark night, bound and gagged in a blacked out Lexus on the way back to Norwich".

You know too many details for this to be a coincidence. The gunman never was caught...

Hmmmm. I have a dark ambient CD by Hive Mind....("Sand Beasts"). Wonder if it's the same lot.

Awesome CD, really dark and atmospheric and evocative.

that's just down the road from me. bloody sold out though.

taxi guy i know took sonic youth there and back from gatwick the other year. had no idea who they were. same guy picked up woody harrelson from paul mccartney's house and then dumped him and his wife at tonbridge station so he could get back in time to take me to heathrow.

hey, i think this should be somewhere else..

Today I gave The Outsider, DJ Shadow a quick rinse cycle, on the strength of loving 'This Time (i'm gonna do it my way)'....

First impression was, well fair play how could anyone come up with a worthy sequel to Entdroducing...

Second was he should have left Unkle where it was as a snapshot of that place and time, and give up hanging out with James Lavelle (assuming that the similar influences are not simply coincidental)....

Further listening on headphones required.....

B O L T   T H R O W E R !!

Awesome. Added some of this into my evergrowing music collection and it's pretty cool.

Other recent additions: Morbid Angel, The Orb (U.F.Orb and Dark side of the moog, which is quality!) and Gogol Bordello, which is also very cool.

Just hooked myself up with Yonderboi's last album - splendid isolation.
Only had a couple of listens and it sounds excellent

Check this out - rare Velvet Underground acetate on ebay - rather expensive.

What an excellent and beautiful cover. If only all gangsta rap could be covered like that, then i could cruise through the hood listening to that! Thanks Bubba [fixed your grotesque mistake]
