It's more my sort of thing than ToVO, though I like both albums. It is more folky but less diverse.

On the DnB front I'm quite liking this mix promo/studio mix from a few years ago by Cyantifique
I've never heard of Cyantifique before  :P

It is an absolute classic mix though!

I found the ToVO a bit dull after the first track but I'll be keen to check this one out.

Also been listening to A Camp 'Colonia' thanks to tomtom.

I have recently been listening to lots of stuff on tribal vision records, and I have to say it is one of the most consistently good quality record labels I have come across. Most of the music is brilliant. The music is mainly a blend of techno - prog house - psytrance.

I bought iVision - Progressive house, trance and techno. 30 full length unmixed tracks for 10 quid. Check it out.

And to do the representing here is Solid Snake - Too Deep in Bleep

Like the second one there.

On a dubstep tip, I once again have been listening to this http://www.dubstepforum.com/numbernin6-a-formal-introduction-t71076.html and it is still awesome, some real filth on there mixed in with some top tunes.

Nothing new, but I've been informed that the server where I used to work (about six years ago) that I still use for hosting stuff may be taken off-line in the coming months.

Feel free to grab whatever takes your fancy from...

Been listening to the Broken Bells collaboration between Danger Mouse and the singer from The Shins.  More Shinslike than Grey Album but still very nice nevertheless..

Unfortunately missed it due to being skint - pretty gutted about it even before you popped up and mentioned how good it was...  :(

Anyone managed to get hold of the Freebass EP yet? I've given up trying to buy one, Hooky's website is a menace! Every time I got to confirm order it showed me the address and card of some poor guy in Glossop...

Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip have a new album out and I reckon it's even better than the first.  More anger than the last one, less personal tales and more rants about the state of the country (along with plenty of their usual positivity and a Billy Bragg reference for good measure).  The beats are harder and more dance orientated too, especially the originally named The Beat.  I think their current single is this gloriously uplifting track:

And if you haven't heard them before, check this out:

Saw them live the other week in Liverpool and it was possibly the best gig I've ever been to.  Really impressive vocal performance from Pip and truly excellent beats from le Sac; he messed with their previous material in a really nice way too.  The support act was an American rapper called B Dolan and he was very good too, even if the track about Joan of Arc using a crucifix as a dildo was a bit odd...

Yeah I know what you mean about the soppiness of Get Better.  Ironically much of their other stuff is about self harm, suicide etc.  Check out this for rather less soppiness:

No but on a related note, I got two tickets for Ian Brown + friends at Platt Fields on the 11th June. He's playing plus Bad Lieutenant (Bernard Sumner's band) with Hooky and Mike Pickering DJ'ing.  Should be a fun evening out... tickets still on Sale if anyone else is interested.

Not sure about the Scroobius Pip thing, was trying to get into the new album earlier and couldn't, the whole thing reminds me a bit too much of this, I guess it would help if I liked dance music of any sort.

I guess that would be a limiting factor, kind of like eating a sandwich when you don't like bread.

I wonder - and this is not directed at Stubbs - whether it is possible for anyone to truthfully say these days "I don't like dance music" given the vast breadth of music that encompasses?

I didn't know what the right name for this sort of dance music was! I'm good with hip hop and rock genres, but the difference between a lot of the dance music ones still confuse me. You're right though Fiend I do like a bit of dubstep and some d&b.

Ben to carry the anaology a little further I'm no so keen on the sandwich filling either, and I like hip hop.
