Just dug Kristin Hersh's Sunny Border Blue out after way too long without hearing it - if you like your music raw and emotional then this is the album for you.

Just checked out Kryptic Minds - One Of Us and I think it's going to have to be my next purchase. Consistent, deep, and haunting dubstep

For a bargain bucket of Dubstep you can't go wrong with 5 years of Hyperdub from that label.  1 cd of classics from Burial, Kode9 et al and another CD of fresh fodder hot off the press.  Some of the new stuff like 'Aidy's girl is a computer' by Darkstar is brilliant.

Can confirm this is pretty p1mp stuff - manages to be chilled out and dark and rude at the same time. Not poppy dubstep.

Very moody and deep. Absolutely top of the bill business as you'd expect from someone who's been in the production game for so long. He's playing on friday in Leeds if you're keen...

Yep saw a bit of them when they supported Orbital on 23rd September in Sheffield.  They were ok, but didn't really do much to interest me, but then I was in the frame of mind for Orbital (they didn't disappoint...

).

Boomkat 14 tracks are a series of download compilations that explore different genres or themes. Great value for money and good way to listen to artists rather than having to wade through loads of stuff.

Lately I've been enjoying:

Dynamic Steppers where Dubstep, Techno and Drum and Bass collide.  Some really interesting stuff on this one from Kryptic Minds, Breakage, Monolake, DBridge, Data and Shackleton among others.

Re-wiring UK Garage Dubstep and techno producers revisiting the UK Garage template and keeping the funkiness and jettisoning the cheese.

Opening up UK Funky I hadn't got a clue what UKF personified so took a gamble and was really surprised. This stuff is basically a house rhythm and bpm template but written by Grime and Dubstep producers so really funky, fun and not at all menacing or headnodding.  Kode9, Dark Night, Karisma...

I only discovererd DMST a couple of months ago. The new one is good but I definitely prefer And Yet and Yet and Goodbye Enemy Airship. Any other recommendations from the back catalogue? Currently can't get enough of Dirty Three's Ocean Songs

The two you mention are probably the best of their stuff but the eponymous first album is up their with those two IMO and gets played just as much as Goodbye Enemy Airship... on my stereo. Disco & Haze is the stand out track on there for me but the rest of the album is close to being as good - I really can't see you being disappointed with it.

With regard to the new album - according to Constellation's blurb the new album is apparently full of "vintage Do Make Say Think" but the reviews of their own releases always read as being the most essential thing ever recorded to media. One suspects they could get me to buy a Jedward record if they released it (thankfully unlikely) but I will review it when it arrives from Canada.
