Blimey, I thought I was archaic for actually purchasing CDs, at least I have the decency to order them online.

Local independent CD shop actually has some guys who are into music and recommend some good stuff. Better than reading Amazon reviews, nothing like personal touch.

Arrghh this is amazing, and I've got work to do. Loving the spoken word guy and the glass accordion.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but I'm loving this Scottish band called the Phantom Band. Check this track off their new(ish) album:

"...I can't see for the mountain silhouette..."

Brilliant new free of charge download 4 track EP from Si Begg 24 bit error collection really  8)

He's gone for the Radiohead model so all 4 tracks are available for free for download (in full WAV format) and you can cough up for a luxury boxed set that comes with all source material on DVD for remixing and lots of other tangible goodies.

 My friend Paul is the singer.  He and Scouse D went to school and started climbing together (Paul doesn't climb much these days, but having learnt his craft at Pex has steely fingers and good technique).

Well if you were to put it in a thread that gets a bit more attention than the solitary opening post then maybe you wouldn't have to point out the errors of our ways...  ;)

Paul Pick-a-fence? Nice one - he's moved on from the broady then!

Aye one and the same.  Not moved far though, lives over in Meersbrook with new g/friend (Emily).  Thebands practice room is spitting distance from CCC/Brammal Lane football ground.  Not sure The Grapes is a massive step up from the Broady either, but they've done a few gigs in other cities I believe and getting their act together with laying down tracks etc.

(Complete aside, but if you and/or dave remember going to Caley Roadside with Paul and some other random guy, well that was me, would have been about five or six years ago now though so wouldn't be surprised if you don't remember.  Also bouldered with you all at Cratcliffe that time Scouse span his car on the road outside Bakewell and knackered the wheels on his white Proton, was around the same time).

If you like jazz and a bit of ambient..etc Matt D got me on to this: beyondjazz.net. They do some great podcasts every week that you can save via itunes..etc or stream directly off the website. Currently enjoying #351 this afternoon whilst lazing around feeling full of a premature wintery cold.

Heads up to anyone who uses The Mixing Bowl.

Free Leaching started today, download whatever you want without it counting against your ratio (I think uploads still count though, so you get to bump up you're ratio even more )
