Is there anyway I can record this? It would make for a great training soundtrack.
Get it here :)

(don't be put off by the date, it was first broadcast in Feb)

It'll most likely be up on themixingbowl.org before long...

Indeed it is (in both mp3 and mp2).

Radio 1 shows get seeded pretty quickly over there.  Sign-ups are still open too if you're not already registered (and if not why not )

Mary Anne Hobbs last night had a great mix from N-Type - first hour was like old skool d&b, I thought I was listening to an old rave tape. Quality. Listen again folks....

WADDAGE!! Great mix, takes me back.

Is it just me or is this Mary Anne Hobbs always talking in between a bit annoying. I had never heard of themixingbowl before but it's very nice. The dnb essential mix from london elektricity (2008-11-8) is extremely good too. Much more my kind of thing then the N-type mix.

I found her speaking in this mix far more annoying than when I used to listen to her old show the Breezeblock (some stunning mixes from this era by the way on the Mixing Bowl).  Its the drawn out drawl that makes her sound as though she's on a premium rate sex line as opposed to presenting a radio show.

 another convert, tons of good stuff there, just make sure you maintain a decent ratio, otherwise you'll get booted.

I found the N-Type mix interesting as it was a journey from old skool Jungle via UK Garage to modern Dubstep. It's not going to float your boat if you're after modern Drum & Bass.

I do like London Electricity as well - there's an old Breezeblock mix of theirs which is good.

At least Mary Anne doesn't talk during mixes, only before and after, which is better than Pete Tong who keeps interrupting the Essential Mix. Are you guys listening to the whole show or just the mix?

She does sound like she's got permanently soggy knickers for dubstep though, poor love

Free Leech over at the Mixing Bowl (downloads don't count against your ratio).

There are cool mixes by Deetron, OVR (Regis & James Ruskin), Vince Watson and Andreas Kramer here: http://www.kinetic-am.com/audio.php

Houdini! I need your help. What's the tune at 44 mins on that Deetron set? Any clues? It's well jackson 5.

Just picked up this stunning collection for £11 in the "we're on our way out" Zavvi sale this morning (2 xCD, 1 DVD)

£28 at amazon!!

Can't wait to check out the video as I think they've the recording of Belfast from 2002 was the one at the Jazz Stage when the luminous ship passed along the back of the crowd playing weird jazz music (no it wasn't the acid, this particular apparition was independantly verified by sober(er) friends!).

That's a poor advertisement for dubstep.

Check out Aaron Spectre, Warlock, and if you're connected, Charlton.
