Quite an old one for fans of deep drum&bass and dubstep

Breakage - Experimental Show @ BBC Radio One 28/11/2007

Breakage provides a deep and darkish DnB and Dubstep mix feat. some of his own tunes on Digital Soundboy and Bassbin.

Tracklisting:
Breakage - ‘Clarendon’ (Digital Soundboy)
Breakage - ‘Come Back’ (Bassbin)
Breakage - ‘The Shroud’ (Digital Soundboy)
Breakage - ‘Morning Star V.I.P.’ (Bassbin)
Insight - ‘Transmission’ (White)
L.V. With Dandelion - ‘Takeover’ (Hyperdub)
Digital Mystikz - ‘Ancient Memories’ (DMZ)
Breakage - ‘Calahan’ (Digital Soundboy)
Untold - ‘Signal Test’ (Hessle Audio)
Breakage - ‘Untitled’ (Digital Soundboy)

Really good shit, only downloaded it today after having listened to a lot of Breakage whilst on Skye. Beware, it's so deep you may never resurface.

Hectic!

Ive dug out all my old Prodigy albums and am enjoying them all over again.

3 Kilos is genius in my opinion.  Brings back some hazy memories!

Considering how much of my misspent youth I spent dancing like a loon to the Prodigy I filled in the rather obvious gap in my record collection by buying their albums off Ebay a few months back for about £4 + P&P. I know exactly how you feel... :dance1:

I listened to this in the truck last night - it scared me into staying awake on the mind-numbing A1. Solid mix but a bit too brutal for my sensibilities. This is the sort of music that would make a house club cry in terror.

If the single with that annoying noise in it is anything go by, bargepole.

I should be really - i do feel i'm letting the side down sometimes. There's a guy at work who actually wears a cowboy hat at all times. But then there's one who has a human sized duck stuffed toy that rides with him so maybe the cowboy is preferable.

Last night I had a unit with no stereo and had to drive for 7.5 hours - now that was truly mind-numbing.

Didn't have any on me and not sure the police would look too kindly at it if you ever crashed. I'll be taking them tonight though in case i get the same unit.

More recommendations from the awesome HighPoint Lowlife record label.

Firstly a couple of electronica records - the first being Marshall Watson's The Time was later than he expected. Worth buying just for track four alone but overall it is just sublimely beautiful poppy electronica at its best and highly recommended - I will be buying his later album from the same label soon without reservation.

Next - Bovaflux Where there was nothing. Put simply it is gorgeous - one for all the fans of the eighties style electronica that just flows seamlessly throughout this record.

Lastly any recommendation by myself would not be complete without some hardcore drones - I recommended Stray Ghost in one of my previous posts in this thread (with the free download link posted again here) and his new EP Losthilde is just the next step on from that. Houdini you will love this without a doubt.

Haven't paid any attention to this thread recently, but the new David Byrne/ Brian Eno single 'Strange Overtones' is well worth a free download. Haven't heard the rest of the album, reports suggest patchiness, but the single is dynamite.

A message for all the Pendulumn and Chase & Status fans out there, from the lovely Tech Itch:

You Need Therapy

This is not merely kill-your-granny Drum'n'Bass. This is kill-your-granny-and-her-friends-and-several-other-random-grannies-and-their-pets-then-burn-their-homes-to-the-ground-and-dance-around-on-their-shattered-remains Drum'n'Bass. I'm sure Tech Itch is a nice guy really and loves his granny very much....but I'm equally sure he's never played her this godawful racket he's mixed and mashed up.

Excellent and highly recommended :).

(Note that the Juno samples have weaker bass than in reality....the CD is better)

Apologies if this has been posted already, but I can't find it via search...

Is it or isn't it Aphex Twin?

Can't believe that I've not already got this but i'd given up even looking for news on the madman assuming he'd retired. Happily it seems that this isn't so with last year's release of:

The Tuss :: Rushup Edge (Rephlex)

Good to see the Cornish god is back with us.  Shit hot. Vibrant and powerful. All IDM freaks get it if you've not already.

Also see the associated pisstaking Myspace page which warbles on about "The Tuss" (ie proud man-meat), acid; and even blatantly mentions Aphex himself. Lovely.

Good find Bubba, will check that out.

This is far from f-f-f-f-f-f-f-ffffresh, but I grabbed it from The Mixing Bowl the other day.  Probably doesn't qualify as Funky either, but perhaps some people may find it entertaining (quality is surprisingly good given the age of the recording).

Anyway, rather than keeping you in suspense any longer....

Ketih Moon Radio Show (1973) (58:25 @ 256kb)

Recorded when Keith Moon stood in whilst John Peel was on holiday.

Pretty sure The Tuss is Mr Twin. Heard a few dirty tracks from that album a while ago courtesy of St Lade and was mightily impressed!

I was never sure about the Tuss - a couple of years ago when i got the album and the Confederation trough EP, the myspace page was totally different, had a couple of related pages with proper names and ting associated with it - and it really seemed a downstep from what RDJ had done in the past. Bored the shit out of me TBH. These tunes on the latest myspace page sound even worse, proper pisstaking bollocks. Are we hearing the same tunes? Sure it isn't V/VM or similar?
