Keith you bitch. I wish I would have been there. Can't see the photos on the PC I'm on at the moment but I have a feeling they will consist images of you killing it in your vest and shades combo. Look forward to checking out the sets later.

And the final set from the night;

Gaiser

This set is great. Better than the Audion or Magda set.  :dance1:

Unc' - What venue is that?

(TecHaters:  if it is so offensive, why don't you counter, redress the balance, recommend something we haven't heard before?  Bring it on.)

I don't think so, Martin Luther King Jnr said it best;

Men often hate each other because they fear each other; they fear each other
because they don’t know each other; they don’t know each other because they
cannot communicate; they cannot communicate because they are separated.

I'd never heard that quote before - so very true tho.

Damn rapidshare only let's you download 1 file every 3 hours or so :(

I'm pleased that so many ppl on here like techno, but don't be shy to post *any* type of music - diversity is good.

Well, I've been listening to the TAMÁS KÁTAI - 'Erika Szobája' CD that I ordered a while back and it is not techno but it is excellent. Hungarian classical / folk / cinematic piano music. Very nice indeed so far.

Don't tell me, there's a Dom and Roland mix on the b-side?

Hiphop/reggae/dancehall/breaks merchants The Nextmen have a new album floating around.  This Was Supposed To Be The Future came out a month or so ago but I don't think it has had a shout on here yet.  So here is a shout for it...  www.thenextmen.com and has a free download of "Knowledge be Born".

Vocals come from Sway, LSK, Dynamite MC etc and it includes the rather lovely dancehall-ish "Blood Fire".  Worth checking if you like your hiphop mellow and want something that isn't too raw.

Today, I'll be mostly listening to No Sleep Til Hammersmith by Motorhead.  It's not new, or funky, but wtf, they were at one time the loudest band on Earth.

I wonder if the album title was inspired by the t shirt?

Here's my latest blast from the past, the pinnacle of left field indie rock in the early 90s: My Bloody Valentine: Loveless

Just the most powerful head swooning and emotional sound I can imagine. I glass over every time I listen to this record.

I was really into the first album Isn't Anything when it came out in 88, but had drifted away from indie music by the time Loveless arrived in 91. I subsequently re-discovered it and was completely blown away by it. A truly remarkable piece of music.

here's one track of it:

Here's a clip from Lost in Translation featuring another:

...and another slightly more funky track:

My favourite track is Come in Alone, but I can't find a decent link for that.

I don't think they're hating the techno, I think they're just scared...

This is like the first time that my tastes have been socially acceptable and fit in with the masses....it's quite weird....like if I post something about a wicked new Adam Beyer CD, people will not only understand what I'm on about, not only tolerate that music, but might even like it too....*sniff*...I love you guysh  :'(

What was the name of that Techno album you bought recently, the heavy one?

The new 180g Shellac LP is here! "Excellent Italian Greyhound"

Comes with gatefold LP cover, plus extra dust jacket for the cover, AND a free CD copy of "Excellent Italian Greyhound" by the band Shellac!  All for £14 (or you can buy just the CD copy in nasty packaging for £14.)

It rocks.

"I'd like to thank our sponsor, but we haven't got a sponsor."

"CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?"

Great album! Might have to get the LP though, sounds a bargain!

A great album and when it was being recorded it so nearly broke the bank for Creation - they ended up putting so much money into it that they couldn't stop. In a strange way I sometimes wish they had as then we would never have heard of Oasis...

Well, this is a little different:

Quote
Balkan beats! So So Hopa! Typsy Gypsy from Belgium mixed a double sided mixtape full of Balkan, Gypsy, Klezmer and everything over 150 bpm! Together with Sam Rabam Typsy Gypsy forms the dj collective Balkan Hot Stepsoundsystem. 'Balkan Hot Step' makes you go hopa!!
