London's finest hip hop DJs, DJ Superix and Rob Breezy AKA Southern Hospitality have been doing an online radio show. It's available on the DL from their site and is well worth a listen...

Battles

Saw Battles again last week.  We left early: it was a bad gig/venue/PA/everything and Battles knew too.  We don't hold it against them.  Next time...

gr - That's a mighty pile of mixes you got there!   8)

Enjoyed of late:  Rodrigo y Gabriella - flamenco/rock (flamencock?)  Pretty rippin' stuff.  Chris Leibing Live @ Womb.  1st 80mins of laptop gig - quite restrained, groovy and compact for Leibing.

Not enjoyed of late:  The Police reformation.

Battles are coming to Leeds soon (I think- or they may have been!) is it worth going to see?

Are they worth going to see?  I think so.  It's only Battles that sound like Battles right now.

Nothing especially new, but currently digging Tunng - those of you liking folky electronica check out 'Surprise me', and M.Ward - acoustic singer-songwriter with a strong sound.

Is that the one with Dylan and Limewax? Could well be tempted, what's the score on it?

Top quality night. Bizarre music, lots of strange people, Ceephax Acid crew was amazing, Limewax was heavy as fuck, Dylan wasn't there but was replaced by Technical Itch, which was pretty good, although we left at that point to do battle with the taxi firms of Leeds...

Saw them on Later the other night and was completely blown away by how good this lot were. Obviously I'd heard the singles on 6 Music, but I was imagining some slick over produced NME type band. Anyway, they were amazing, and I've ordered this album on the strength of that performance. Wilco were also very cool on Later - the new album (mentioned previously) is probably more laid back than most folk might want from this band, but I'm loving it.

I can't help but post this. 4 hours of wonderful grooves, bleeps, bangs, melodies, and screams. Sometimes serious, sometimes fun, always good.

Ricardo and Richie at Mutek 2006 Part 1 and Part 2.

One day, I will get to Mutek. Looks amazing.

Houdini, I would never knowingly deprive a man of techno, this link is ALIVE!

Troy Pierce - Live at Esko - 19/01/2007

EDIT; This is the same link I posted back on page 72 or something, so some of you may already have it. This is only for Houdini who seems to have missed it.
