Mmmm. BOC, now there is a quality outfit.

Got to mention Aphex Twin- Drukqs again, gave it another play last night for the first time in ages. Sheer brilliance.

At last BOC rear their beautiful head! Absolute waddage. You got any of the other stuff Bubba? I did have it but it all melted, but I should be getting pretty much every album on a big CD off a mate pretty soon, if you want a copy.

For those who have it, there are several BOC tunes on "A Film By Some Climbers", from the album Music Has The Right To Children. The Heartbeat City bit and the 'wrong' numbers tune over Obsession Fatale.

I always thought BOC were a guitar band for some reason  :?

But yeah, really really good stuff - just got hold of Music Has The Right To Children so will be listening to that later today.

Get hold of Twoism too, it's a mini-album by comparison to the two already mentioned, but has some very fine tunage on it. It's been re-released, prior to that it was very rare and reputedly selling for 800 squid on eBay.

There's also another CD, I don't think it has a name, but it's on SKAM records, comes in a pale blue carboard sleeve, and is kwality...

Currently listening to the fairly rare "A Few Odd Songs", some real classics. One stroke of comedy genius is "Blockbusters", with a bizarrely rearranged set of samples from....yep, you guessed it!

"I'll have a 'W' please Bob...."

Yeah, Girl/Boy song is brilliant.

I can't really fault any Aphex stuff - saw him live at the Arches in Sheff a few years back when he was doing the Richard D James stuff and it was an awesome night. Funny though, he just sat at the front hunched over a laptop with a big cigar - not really an electrifying stage presence!

He played the Orbit back in the early 90's when it was a happy happy rave club and apparantly actually had people crying with his terror sounds

Just listened to this through headphones - top drawer, one of the best Electronica albums I've heard.

DJ Heather :: Essential Mix - 14.12.2003

High quality, pumping Chi-house.

I find it really hard to find house mixes to download that aren't commercial cheese-fests and this sort of thing makes a nice change.

Björk - Medulla

Lordy - this is really strange. It's nearly all just vocals (even the beats are made by human's and then re-programmed), and sounds like demented chamber music or something.

Dunno what to say - unique and interesting and I think it'll grow on me.

And for something slightly different...from the deep dark past of 1973:

John Martyn - Solid Air

Folky, bluesy and jazzy - A real classic, which I've only just rediscovered after not hearing it for about 10 years. Really really good.

On the subject of Sabres of Paradise...

Try to find Pink And Poisonous, a compilation from the SOP offshoot label, Sabrettes. It's got a spider on the front cover. Absolutely stonking techno that escalates perfectly from dubby hippy stuff at the start to hard-as-nails industrial stuff by the end.

I'd say you'd have lost any credibility you had already with the Mortiis confession, FOAM, but....ah....ummm....did you have any already??  :P
