does anyone have any of the Fabriclive discs and which would you recommend?

The new Aim one is well cool, will have to check which ones I have and like. I know James Lavelle is fine.

Has anyone got the new Mr Scruff Album "Keep it Solid Steel". I really like Trouser Jazz and wondered how it compares?

i love the adam freeland fabric. i think either that one or james lavelle are the best ones.

(john peel has to be the worst fabric absolute cack)

I like the Aim fabric L too, and I do quite like John Peel one, though not sure about the football skits. Some of the other F.L. I find a bit mixing by numbers, but like with any series, there's good and bad.

All the solid steel mixes are worth getting - there's loads online. And I've yet to hear a Mr Scruff mix that isn't excellent.

On a hip-hop tip, just got Ugly Duckling, Journey to Anywhere. Excellent.  :8)

Also just got Herbie Hancock, Mr Funk. Jazz funk. Nice. Watermelon man has one of the greatest intros ever, via cheeky panpipes. Oooww!

the avenger mix is str8 hiphop / funk beats, a must have IHMO if only for the track with every Snoop/Dre hit mixed together in about 3 mins...my gosh.

Just got hold of Soundbombing II, quite strange - i had it off a mate about a year ago and thought it was wack, now it ain't come off the MD.

Wanna put a mention in for, well, anything by Rae and Christian...one of my favorites.

i know that Common has been mentioned on here before - did a quick Amazon search, which album do you hiphop headz reckon i should start with?

Been getting into the last Jay-Z album - only got it cos it were on a deal with the Kanye West album, and I ain't generally got time for the Jigga Man but I gotta say it's pretty d.o.p.e...ain't got HOVA on it tho.

best mr scruff mix is the breezeblock set, been around for years now but still world class.
Eye on the gold chain - what a tune (yoda c&p vol 1) have never been able to find the song on its own tho.
Common album, 'one day it'll all make sense' or 'like water for chocolate' are good places to start, both very good albums

Is this the same guy from 'Freeland' as in the folks that did that track 'i want your soul' - is the mix along a similar vibe ?

We went to the Mylo gig in Aberdeen last night. Definitely worth checking out if you like their stuff. Came across very well live. Some tour dates are here; http://www.ents24.com/web/artist/72533/Mylo.html as www.mylo.com doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

He comes from Skye; wonder if he knows SoC?

Mylo's becoming a bit of a star now, isn't he/they? Which is it btw - is it one bloke and a synth or does he use a band?

I think Mylo is the bloke, Myles McInnes, and does most of the stuff  on the album himself, but there were 3 of them with two guitars and two synths which they used among them at the gig.

whilst listening to jonthan ross being terry wogan[not that i listen to terry wogan i'll have you know]he played a they might be giants track every day.well this reminded me of my not so distant middle age!so i thought i might purchase a copy of one their cd's.
well as my usual record store of choise did'nt appear to stock their back catologue[sainsbury's]i thought i might have to hazard a trip in to the centre of hull to find a suitable store.
ha !there's an irony there.

well fortune saved me as the missus and daughter dragged me out on a shopping trip to york.well after the delight's of fat face and tammy,i was able to make my escape to the virgin mega store.
well after failing to find the cd's for the first 10 mins.they were upstairs.i purchased a they might be giants cd[the flood][what a set of tight twat's they don't give a pensioners discount]
i then spotted  moby 18 in the sale no less.well i remember reading about him in the independant round at my mate bob's.him being a bit of an interlectual, well hes a house husband and is missus is a gp.well it reckoned this moby guy was all right.so i though fuck it caution to the wind, here goes 6 quid.

well bugger me i'm right impressed.

i realise this might not be that much of a fresh beat.but hell sometimes i forget where i live these day's.

Welcome to 2002. If you haven't got, or heard, Play (the previous album) you must be one of few people in the known universe. I prefer it to 18.

I've always had a soft spot for Moby since his old rave anthem, "Go" (Woodstock Mix is the fine one). He's a little strange, but a talent for sure and very prolific.

Check his discogs profile for info on all his releases.
