Its competition time again here at Awesome Walls in Stoke on Trent, but with a little twist!

4 years ago today, I woke up thinking, “when will this end?” Painting, hauling, shovelling, brushing, screwing, making countless cups of tea...and repeat. Then it happened! Awesome Walls Stoke on Trent officially opened its doors on Saturday 27th February 2010 bang on 10am. Just under 4 years later I am writing this amazed at how fast the time has gone by.
We have had many Awesome Events along the way, but what is happening on the 1st March this year is definitely a day not to miss. As you might have guessed we are celebrating our 4th Birthday this year and to celebrate we our hosting a Birthday Bouldering Bash! What is that you ask?
We are starting the day off at 12 noon with a competition: - 25 Qualifying Problems set by in-house setter Dominic Bridgwood and guest setter Alex Fry. At 4pm the Qualifiers finish and while we tote the scores up, climbers can relax with a brew, enjoy some hot food from our Awesome Cafe, try some Slacklining, chill out and listen to Andi Turner giving us a special Lecture, or simply carry on climbing and check out our other Awesome problems. At 6 o’clock the final problems will start. The top 5 climbers from each category will battle it out in The Awesome Cave where we will have 5 final problems.
Soon after the finals finish we will have a prize giving where we have loads to give away. We have prizes from Beal, La Sportive, Core Climbing, Five Ten and more! And don’t worry if you don’t place in the top 3; we will be giving out spot prizes to randomly placed competitors as well!
What more can we do. Well it is a Birthday after all. We will have food and drink on, not to forget the cake as well. All that topped off with some live music and a boogie makes for an Awesome Party not to be missed. There will also be lots of party games throughout the evening to win even more goodies!
