Generally open access is for people and not necessarily dogs, but dogs are always allowed on footpaths, assuming you approach that way. The usual rule is the dog must be on a short lead when off footpath during the nesting season, though landowners may apply for closure of the access land.

As ever, act responsibly, keep the dog under control and you shouldn't have a problem.
