I took some pics a couple of weeks ago for Sheffield Live (radio station) when recording an interview with Dave D. It's huge. This is one of several bouldering areas. And the lead walls are enormous.

Normally I can work out the angles on a climb, but I'm not even sure it this is the right way up?


Can I just be the first to say that the brand name 'awesome' makes me want to kill myself. It reminds me of a sheffield church who called everything 'mega' so their building is/was the megacenter. Kill me. Kill me now. Also, the hype, the new classification the wall has been awarded, the corporate spiel. It all makes me want to die. The staff will all, I'm sure, wear bright colourful uniforms and horrible horrible smiles, as if they don't work in a baltically cold over-marketed plastic-filled warehouse. There'll be membership cards and numbers, branded mugs, 'awesome' toilets and the whole place will be some kind of neo-horror temple to the god of commercial climbing. The whole thing makes me shudder.

That said, looks like a good wall, looking forward to a visit.

Well of course. Lego - old skool Lego that is - is.....awesome.

I don't like primary colour walls though. As a Foundry and therefore Wave devotee you must appreciate the aesthetics of austere grey as a backdrop for lurid lines of holds??
