Can anyone recommend some bouldering trousers:

Criteria
Men's
Hard wearing
Flexible
Colour.... Most are bland, black, grey or green.

I don't want anything too garish, but some Spanish/Brazilian summer inspired trousers, Green, Red, Yellow, etc.

Thanks

Richie Crouch and turnipturned are probably your best bets...

I'm a bit of a fan of the das:

And

Would be quite a strong look!

Your best bet would probably be E9 or Trangoworld for well made, colourful, stretchy kecks. I find Moon ones too tight on the thighs even with my sparrow legs!

I dread to think what "Brazilian-inspired" trousers might mean...

E9 are what comes to mind when I think of euro-style colourful climbing trousers though.

Not all of us walk around in black skinny jeans, black t-shirt and facepaint on... Emo Andy..... does this count as bullying an Emo! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-22018888?

My only advice is spend a bit of dollar and get something that will last i.e. E9 or Black Diamond are super nice, comfy and are built for climbing. The Depot have a good range of bright and wonderful colours at the moment https://www.theclimbingdepot.co.uk/shop (Dunning I want free coffee when I go to the wall next!)

Or you could go for a pair of moon pants but you run the risk of looking like an elephant with them dam pockets especially if you caught having a cheeky piss at the crag!!!

Black Diamond also do some decent boulderings trousers too, the Notion which are similar to the E9 ones.

  • sometimes you see things & curse, damnit no gun
Interesting thread, especially as we've been designing some kids wear for later this year and I ummmed and ahhed about bright colours versus the usualy black/grey/brown/green... our decision was we had to go boring in our first year... shame as I had some jazzy ideas for some killer red shorts... next year and we may even do some adult stuff next year.  I can do commissions but the price would work out expensive.    Whilst doing this I had a good nose around the climbing trouser market (o-er) and think E9 will get closest to what yer after.

I'm glad to see as you've got older you've become a devotee of the fiend school of climbing fashion.

No, fiend wears nothing but the DKNY urban warfare range. I go for the H&M Shoreditch Slob look.

Thanks for the replies, even the dubious tartan 70's punk bondage trousers...

A loose analogy is with gore-tex coats (excluding the tech and fit/design)

The cheaper end of the market is: Millets, Sprayway, etc. Green Black grey I'm a rambler....
The tech end is: Patagucci, Arcteryx bright colours that you actually want to wear....

The E9 look similar to what I'm after.

Even without going to bright, these have some colour

You both look like you should be on escorted leave only.

Being a skinny youth they might actually fit you. Where as I find they actually fit better if I wear them backwards. So they never get worn to go climbing, just for intimate get togethers with friends.
