This South West bouldering update seems to have thus far escaped UKB. Various developments including the South West's first 8A+ bloc:

If anyone comes across any new crag or route development topos etc for somerset part of exmoor coast (and at last it's finding it's rightful place), or other regional rock.

Please add them to the bristol area wiki pages.

Thanks

Cheers Jake.  I had put a link on a different thread but this seems like the right place for it.

I can confirm the wall with Pipeline on it is indeed an excellent piece of rock and there are some equally good quality bits in the vicinity.

Just to put Tom's effort on doing Pipeline into context:-

The venue (Sillery Sands (Foreland Point)) is a very pleasing place to climb but it does involve effort to get to and to get home again.  On neap tides it is not possible to get around to Pipeline without a swim! Again, at high tide on a spring tide or a neap tide it is not possible to get around the cut off point.  So the window of opportunity to get there is 2 or 3 hours either side of low tide (this is approximate don't blame me if you get cut off!).  You will also need a little time and a helpful breeze for the bottom half of the wall dry out because it's just been underwater for a few hours (so the window for climbing it is more like 2 hours).  Tides aren't at the same time everyday, so you can't just go when you please.  The wall is not guaranteed to be in good condition when you get there.  The walk in and out involves descending 300m (in height) and ascending 300m afterwards - 'Trackside' it is definitely not.

So the skinny lanky youth has put in an a brilliant and inspiring effort to climb this problem. :clap2:

All looks amazing.

Bet shurt is having flashbacks about to having to escape from Sandymouth after getting cut off, and frontpointing his way up the choss in his rockshoes!
