Is 50-55 to steep for a board?
September 10, 2012, 09:18:45 am
as it says...Is 50-55 degrees to steep for a board?
I've got to move my two current boards and was thinking of sticking a board in the attic. It would be really easy to mount the boards on the rafters as they are, but is it too steep. Total board area woud be about 7ft wide 9ft length. I could also stick an 8ft by 4ft board (system style) in my shed at an angle of 25 -35 degrees, again dictated by space. I also have a beastmaker.

So all in all, should i go for a home set up or look around for another home for my boards, other factors are it will cost nothing at home in terms of rent and fuel.

any thoughts?

The school board was 56' when dismantled. Having said that, it was also a LOT longer.

consider temps in the attic. I know in ours it can be like both a furnace or a fridge dependent on season.

Perfect world>convert both.  :)

As regards temps in the attic, I was going to get one of those portable air conditioners.

 If that was my loft, that air-con unit would have a bigger job on than Jasper's hairdresser.

I'd have thought that by the sounds of it that would be very steep and very short so perfect provided you can stick moves on non juggy holds. Depends I guess on a) what holds you want to be good at and b) how strong you are.

My board is 53 degrees and it's fine. A good holds selection is crucial. My advice is to put small footholds, otherwise the risk is to hold small holds only because of massive footholds.
You'll enjoy.
