http://www.thebmc.co.uk/get-fit-bmc-leading-ladder-2012The BMC Leading Ladder is a fun lead climbing competition running at 37 UK walls until the end of March 2013.
Each round runs for a 16 day period. That means you can travel around the country and take part in leading competitions right throughout the winter – a great way to get fit, and stay fit!
How does it work?
Each round will have 10 routes ranging from F5+ to F8a, with three ability categories to choose from: A, B or C.
• A is for climbers who lead indoor routes in the grade range F5+ to 6b.
• B is for climbers who lead indoor routes in the grade range F6b to 7a.
• C is for climbers who lead indoor routes in the grade range F7a to 8a.
The routes are clearly marked and anyone using the wall may climb them. But if you want to take part and record your score, you need to buy a scorecard for £1 from the host venue. Trying the routes before buying a scorecard is cheating!
National Final - to take part in the final you must be a BMC Member
The final will be held at Lakeland Climbing Centre on 27th April 2013. You must compete in a minimum of two competitions during the series to be considered for the final. The format of the final will be in keeping with the format of the series.
