Anyone got any knowledge on whether stuff is usually dry at Christmas-ish time of year? It sounds like Oct/Nov and Easter are the more usual times, but is that because people are wimps and it's not tops off weather or because the tufas are usually wet then?

Generally, the rainy season in Kalymnos is between December and March.  If you went in December you might be lucky, but there is more potential for heavier periods of rain during that time.
