Since I was fool enough to marry 'im indoors, we really need to sort out some sort of shared calendar so we can avoid each other as much as possible 

We both have macs and use iCal but for some reason can't get them to sync with each other. Is there anything easy anyone can recommend? And by 'easy' I mean that even 40 year old idiots can use.

Another vote for Google calendar. Doesn't look terribly inspiring but works well online and via Android phones - never tried it on an iDevice.
