Bodyblade anyone?
January 18, 2012, 03:57:51 pm
my ostheopatist (spelling please?) the other week made me try this thing, called Bodyblade.
www.bodyblade.com
I found it very useful for general warm up, it works muscle groups rather than single muscles, and requires quite a bit of balance and coordination between right and left part of the body.
I'm thinking about getting one, anyone has tried it?
I really really liked, could become a very good rest day activity, quite cardio also, if you want.

I think you want to write osteopath (osteopathist) rather ostheopatist?  Assuming you mean someone who does manipulation type stuff to your back and muscles?

I used to have one, my ex got custody in a split though.  I think if you use it properly then it can definitely be a good work out, whether it's great for climbing specific stuff I don't know but it definitely works your muscles and I found it was pretty good for toning or for bulking up muscle depending on what you wanted to do.

thanks Mag!
I think it will do good for general warm up before training and also on rest/active recovery days!!!

Hunt about for deals before you buy, I'm pretty sure I wanted one after seeing an infomercial thing but decided not to order right away and ended up getting a better deal on it elsewhere.

thanks again Mag!!!
may I remind you that Italy is a third world country under some aspects, and this is one. there's only one shop in the whole Tuscany region where I can buy it... luckily a friend lives there.
other option is on the net, it's cheaper but with P&P would cost more, plus I'd have to wait for it to be delivered.
in the shop it costs 79 euros. it's quite a lot, but I don't need another pair of climbing shoes so...

Nibs are you seriously going to buy one of those things?

I found it very useful for general warm up, it works muscle groups rather than single muscles

Like a lot of other exercises.

This is a gimmick.

yes that's true, but when I tried it, I really liked it.
my ostheopatist suggested it to me and made me try it during a visit. he'll prepare a routine for warm ups and rest days, to help me balance my left shoulder which is responsible of many of my back problems. he told me that my collarbone (that I badly broke when 15) is completely twisted, and my left shoulder behaves in a totally different way than the right one.
I know that it won't be miraculous and for sure I won't climb 8b+ training with it, but again I really liked it when I tried.
for instance, I found out that I lack the balance and coordination to keep it in motion if moving it horizontally at chest level. after a few secs, I always went out of rythm.
but to balance out this strange purchase, I'll buy another Beastmaker to be put on top of the other!!!

why don't you just get a kettlebell and swing that around instead? If you get out of rhythm you'll soon know it.

That's harsh. He's from 'expertvillage'. I reckon they know their onions.
Here's some more of their stuff. Watch and learn:
