OK,

I need  a laptop for a 13 yr old... to aid studies... incl graphic design ( adobe illustator - free from schoiol)  & the whole office apps shite...

gotta be windows..

obviously loads of models in currys etc.... I know I need loads a RAM...

anything else I need to consider?

Any thoughts on screen size, portability and price bracket? There are some ace deals available on Dell XPS 15.6" machines at present on the Dell Outlet - and if you watch carefully, there are times in the day / week when they obviously input the new stock to the system so there are loads - and because they are pften ones that have been 'configured' and ordered, and the order subsequently cancelled before they were dispatched under the distance selling regs, you can get a bargain with the better screen, bigger battery, max memory HDD etc...

I got one last year for half of the £900 'new' price and it had never left Dell.
