the general consensus is that resoled shoes never feel the same as before. just by a new pair before they wear out next time and break them in along side using the comfy pair.(obviously if the funds allow it).

Every pair of 5.10 lace ups I've had resoled have ended up just as good as the original but obvooulsy slippers are alot softer.

can I ask who you use to get your shoes resoled?

I have a pair of Red Chilli Habaneros and I am just starting to go through the rubber at my big toe

Personally I've found Cheshire Shoes to do a great job with quick turn-around.

Hi,

I emailed Cheshire shoes and this is the response I got

"Thanks for your email enquiry. We do not stock the original rubber RX1 but we can resole and fit new toe rands in any of the rubbers we stock.  The Five Ten rubber is the most popular with our customers."

What are peoples thought on the "Five Ten" rubber and what difference will it make to my habs?

Cheshire shoes are good. They resoled my Scarpa Vision Velcro's with Stealth and they became a joy to climb in. Best if you haven't gone through the toe, as your shoes can be a different length and shape when they come back (the mrs has been gutted with hers that came back like that). They have also put a vibram sole on my trainers (building up the foam bit under the rubber that was worn away) and also did a nice job putting a new heal on my cheaney boots. :great:

They won't be the same, agreed. but its cheaper than a new pair. My shoes are however frikin' ace and I think well worth the money.

Most folks on here seem to swear by 5.10. Generally 5.10 are considered the stickiest on the whole I think. I prefer Scarpa who use vibram rubber, but my 5.10 Pinks have stickier soles.   Both seem a lot stickier than the Red Chilis I've used previously, but they've probably improved a bit since.

Sounds good, I will give the 5.10 rubber a go as if anything the existing rubber doesn't appear to be that "sticky" :)  Like said, cheaper than new shoes so worth a shot.
